Danish Presidency

Denmark holds the Presidency of the Council of the European Union in the first half of 2012. It is the seventh time Denmark holds the EU Presidency since joining the European Community in 1973. The four fundamental priorities for the Danish Presidency are a responsible, dynamic, green a safe Europe.

EUKN has supported the Danish Presidency by developing three topical knowledge dossiers: on Inclusive Local Economic Development, on Social Mixing and on Urban Design. On 13 and 14 March 2012 the Directors General responsible for urban development have met in Copenhagen, and on this occasion these papers have served as inspiration and a point of departure for roundtable discussions.
