Hungarian Presidency

The Hungarian Presidency of the Council of the European Union, represents urban development as a priority. Nowadays, European countries have to cope with global challenges which can influence quality of living in each city. Therefore, the Presidency stimulates sustainable development in cities and towns. The Hungarian Presidency wishes to contribute to European urban policy by focusing on two themes: the two global trends of climate change and demographic change. This dossier mainly focuses on climate change: it is comprised of several European case studies and contains the achievements of the Hungarian presidency related to this theme. The Hungarian presidency runs from 1 January 2011 till 30 June 2011.
