Municipalities and regions of Europe: become a partner of the European Local Democracy Week!
European Local Democracy Week (ELDW) 2011 has flourished across European municipalities and towns in the recent weeks. An increasing number of cities and towns have organised this year thousands of events, meetings, competitions, exhibitions and lectures, mostly focused on “Human Rights” issues, the leading theme of the current edition of the week.
12 Star Cities
19 Municipalities organised the week as “12 Star-city” this year. They are:
- Brussels and Namur (Belgium);
- Sisak (Croatia);
- Strasbourg and Angers (France);
- Festos and Chania (Greece);
- Mola di Bari (Italy);
- Utrecht (Netherlands);
- Katowice (Poland);
- Amadora (Portugal);
- Belgrade (Serbia);
- Sundbyberg (Sweden);
- Mugla, Lüleburgaz, Tarsus, Gebze and Gazientep (Turkey);
- Stokton-on-Tees (United Kingdom).
More municipalities are still joining the ELDW, you can register
