In order to devote more positive attention to diversity and show that diversity among people in cities provides many opportunities, Seba Cultural Management organised Diversity Days in Amsterdam. During three days, possibilities and best practices of partners, sponsors and cultural institutions were presented and exchanged.

    Discrimination against Muslims in housing, employment and education is persistent in the European Union (EU). Because of this, many Muslims, particularly young people, face limited opportunities for social advancement. This is one of the key outcomes of a research on Islamophobia and discrimination against Muslims in the European Union. It was carried out by the European Monitoring Centre on Racism and Xenophobia (EUMC). The report is highly informative for anyone interested in the position of Muslims in the EU Member States. It identifies good practices initiated at national, regional and local level to improve integration and community cohesion. The EUMC also gives recommendations on how local authorities can combat discrimination of Muslims and Islamophobia.

    Access to affordable and comprehensive health care for women has been a major political issue over the past few years, especially as debates on the government’s role in health care and proposed funding cuts have reached a fever pitch. These debates shouldn’t come as a surprise: one in five of the more than 96 million women in the U.S. between 18 and 64 are uninsured, making concerns about where women can access health care a serious and urgent issue.
