Summary

Main attention is put on suburbanisation and suburban development and their impact on the change of socio-spatial structure. Project modifies and empirically tests theoretical approaches of urban research - theory of stages of urban development and theory of differential urbanisation. Main outputs of this project are book of selected topics, series of articles, www pages and conference papers. Particular stress is paid on cooperation with pre-gradual and post-gradual students of social geography. Results of project will be useful for two university courses - Urbanisation and urban development and Social geography of Prague.

2. to continue with the empirical researches of the urbanization of the population in the Prague urban region in the present, focusing on detailed study of selected sites strongly influenced by urbanization processes, especially with emphasis on the study of suburbanization and suburban development ;

3. to present the results to Czech and foreign professional public and use the results of research in the universities, engaging students in scientific research.
