Creation of the European Observatory of Inequality
Associations and research centres from all over Europe created the first European independent network of information on inequality, Inequality Watch, the European Observatory of Inequality.
The objective of Inequality Watch is to improve knowledge about inequality in Europe between and in each country, says Cédric Rio, coordinator of Inequality Watch, through the pooling and comparison of analyzes from all over Europe.
All the analyzes of the member organizations of Inequality Watch are gathered on a single website. The observatory will also organize several public events to discuss inequalities in Europe. Inequality levels in each country are very different across European countries, so we need to understand why inequality is so high in Portugal and so low in Sweden.
