3rd World Forum Against Drugs - Stockholm (Sweden) - May 21-23, 2012
21 May 2012The World Forum Against Drugs is an arena for exchanging knowledge and experience, to describe new research, and to inspire to new methods of prevention. The World Forum takes place every two years. It is a meeting place for people all around the world who work to prevent drug abuse through grassroots efforts, on a voluntary basis, professionally or as policymakers.

Climate Alliance Annual Conference "Beyond Growth: Steps towards a 2000 Watt Society" - St. Gallen, Switzerland, 23-26 May 2012
23 May 2012Measures and projects for climate protection on local level are on the agenda of the Annual Conference and General Assembly of Climate Alliance from 23 to 26 May 2012 in St. Gallen. According to the motto “Beyond Growth: Steps towards a 2000 Watt Society” Roland Stulz, director of the Swiss Institute 2000 Watt Society, will introduce the concept and the implementation of this energy policy scheme. Concepts for a post-growth society will be presented by the director of the Swiss Federal Institute for Forest, Snow and Landscape Research, Dr. Irmi Seidl. The Ecuadorian economist and politician Alberto Acosta will demonstrate the link between good life “Buen Vivir” and climate protection.

The German Federal Ministry of Transport, Building and Urban Development is taking this as an opportunity to discuss the issue with a wide range of European stakeholders. The European Conference “Urban. Rural. Europe. Strengthening Partnerships” to be held at the Federal Ministry of Transport, Building and Urban Development in Berlin on 19 June 2012 will look at urban-rural partnerships against the background of the “Europe 2020” growth strategy and the draft proposals for the European structural funds from 2014.

Final EURISLAM conference: the socio-cultural integration of Muslim migrants in Europe - Brussels (Belgium), June 20-21, 2012
20 Jun 2012From 2008 till 2012 a team based at six universities conducted extensive research on the social-cultural integration of different Muslim groups in Europe. This has resulted in the collection of unique data sets that give new insights into the interplay of policies, debates, and attitudes of, and, towards Muslim migrants. We are proud to present and discuss these research findings during a two day conference on 20-21 June 2012 in Brussels.
