3rd World Forum Against Drugs - Stockholm (Sweden) - May 21-23, 2012

The World Forum Against Drugs is an arena for exchanging knowledge and experience, to describe new research, and to inspire to new methods of prevention. The World Forum takes place every two years. It is a meeting place for people all around the world who work to prevent drug abuse through grassroots efforts, on a voluntary basis, professionally or as policymakers.

Climate Alliance Annual Conference "Beyond Growth: Steps towards a 2000 Watt Society" - St. Gallen, Switzerland, 23-26 May 2012

Measures and projects for climate protection on local level are on the agenda of the Annual Conference and General Assembly of Climate Alliance from 23 to 26 May 2012 in St. Gallen. According to the motto “Beyond Growth: Steps towards a 2000 Watt Society” Roland Stulz, director of the Swiss Institute 2000 Watt Society, will introduce the concept and the implementation of this energy policy scheme. Concepts for a post-growth society will be presented by the director of the Swiss Federal Institute for Forest, Snow and Landscape Research, Dr. Irmi Seidl. The Ecuadorian economist and politician Alberto Acosta will demonstrate the link between good life “Buen Vivir” and climate protection.

Urban Solutions Seminar - Birmingham, UK, 29 May - 2 June 2012

SALTO Inclusion, together with the UK NA, SALTO Cultural Diversity and NA Poland, is organizing “Urban Solutions Seminar”. The seminar will take place from 29 May till 2 June 2012 in Birmingham, United Kingdom. This seminar will bring 25 stakeholders together for a reality check. The main aim is to reflect upon social challenges in urban areas and the role of youth work in addressing/preventing them.

Funding strategies: Building the case for homelessness – Brussels, 8 June 2012

The Committee of The regions, FEANTSA and HABITACT jointly organise the 7th European seminar on local homeless strategies. The overall objective of the seminar is to reflect on prerequisites for successful funding strategies in the current economic climate, along three broad themes: budgeting, diversifying funding sources, cost-efficiency. Additionally, the seminar presents examples of existing funding strategies using concrete and practical information for local actors.

Final EURISLAM conference: the socio-cultural integration of Muslim migrants in Europe - Brussels (Belgium), June 20-21, 2012

From 2008 till 2012 a team based at six universities conducted extensive research on the social-cultural integration of different Muslim groups in Europe. This has resulted in the collection of unique data sets that give new insights into the interplay of policies, debates, and attitudes of, and, towards Muslim migrants. We are proud to present and discuss these research findings during a two day conference on 20-21 June 2012 in Brussels.
