Copenhagen wins European Mobility Award 2006 05-06-2006 Copenhagen, Denmark, has won the 2006 European Mobility Award. Budapest,
Hungary, and Koprivnica, Croatia, both came in second place. The award is given
annually for the promotion of best practice in sustainable urban transport by
local authorities. This year 43 entries were received.
The European Mobility Week Award wants to reward local authorities’
activities in the framework of the European Mobility Week 2006. The Award
promotes experiences and successes and raises awareness for the need of local
and individual action in the field of sustainable urban mobility.
The award was previously held by Nantes, France (2005), Ljubljana, Slovenia
(2004) and Ferrara, Italy, Geneva, Switzerland and Lund, Sweden (2003).
