HOUS-ES network is looking for new partner
05-09-2006

The thematic URBACT network Hous-Es is looking for one or more partners to join their activities. The main objective of Hous-Es Network is to trigger necessary changes in local, national and European policy on housing, spatial planning, architectural strategy and town planning. The Network is trying to achieve this by exchanging experience with European cities and institutions.
Hous-Es particularly focuses real urban regeneration projects with the course on improved public space, social inclusion, new jobs, activation of local communities and in effect on better living conditions and higher quality of life in cities. Currently partners include European cities and institutions such as the Architects’ Council of Europe, Politecnico di Milano, and the Council of Europe Development Bank.
The expected results of the Hous-Es are:
  • to increase the overall quality of life in urban areas, improving housing conditions, increasing the relevance and quality of public space, facilities and services, creating a better functional mix, combating insecurity and facilitating social inclusion;
  • to contribute to achieving a more sustainable development generating local economic growth and employment;
  • to produce and disseminate “transferable knowledge” that can be used and adapted by other cities as a framework to support innovative management structures and techniques in respect of large housing area renewal;
  • changes in local, national and European policy on housing, spatial planning, architectural strategy and town planning.
