Introduction
Sustainable regeneration requires visionary thinking and joined up approaches to delivering successful programmes. It engages the public and is supported by local communities. But what are the challenges facing regeneration professionals and public representatives and how can we meet them?
Description
This conference focuses on sustainable regeneration throughout the island of Ireland by looking at best practices in Ireland’s cities and towns. Professionals and academics will shine their light on the matter. Aim is for the participants to engage in constructive debate around the issues and challenges are faced and how to overcome these through partnership and knowledge transfer. This conference is firstly aimed at urban professionals from Ireland. However, it will be of interest to delegates from other countries as well.
The programme links the regeneration of the physical with the needs of communities. It will examine innovative solutions to the challenges of sustainable regeneration. Projects across the North and South of Ireland will be presented. The programme offers opportunity for deliberation and debate as well as learning and networking. It will provide an occasion for those engaged in regeneration and neighbourhood renewal to explore the policy, practice and ideas surrounding the delivery of sustainable regeneration.
