Introduction
SCORUS, the international network for regional and urban statistics, organises this conference on regional and urban statistics and research. The theme of the conference is “Globalization Impact on Regional and Urban Statistics”.
Description
SCORUS is the Standing Committee on Regional and Urban Statistics. Participants are invited to contribute their research to be presented during the conference in so called paper sessions. For a paper to be considered for the invited paper sessions an abstract need to be submitted by the 30th May 2006. Papers should cover one of the following issues: 
  1. Regional patterns of foreign direct investment; 
  2. International cities as poles of economic growth; 
  3. Regional effects of international migration; 
  4. Location, agglomeration and clustering; 
  5. Functional regions; 
  6. The role of international organisations in understanding globalisation; 
  7. China; 
  8. Measuring inequality at local level; 
  9. Regions of the world and their role in / impact on the global economy;
  10. Geographical analyses: making the most of existing data.
