Partners 4 Action – final conference – Riga, 25 September 2006 25-09-2006 Introduction The Partners 4 Action network has been looking at the use of Public Private
Partnerships (PPPs) in urban regeneration, through a series of workshops and
case studies to compare experiences of PPPs in the 13 participating cities. The
final conference of the network will see the presentation of the results of its
networking activities in the form of a practitioners guide to PPPs in urban
regeneration.
Description
The Partners 4 Action network is funded by URBACT. The aim of the network has
been to identify practical characteristics and success factors that could
benefit other cities and urban areas that consider using PPPs in their urban
regeneration efforts.
The forthcoming practitioners guide is aimed at urban regeneration officers
and practitioners in European cities that may be considering the use of PPPs. It
is written by practitioners to provide practical suggestions of opportunities
and practice in the use of PPPs. Speakers at the conference include Marco Irani
(DG REGIO), Jean-Loup Drubigny (head of URBACT secretariat), Leslie Chalmers
(English Cities Fund) and participants (public and private sector) from the
Partners 4 Action network.
