Cities against Terrorism – Tübingen, 27-28 November 2006 27-11-2006 Introduction The Cities against Terrorism conference is themed “How to deal with Terrorist
Threats? Major Problems and Handling Opportunities for local Authorities”. Much
of the work on the terrorist threat to cities and citizens has been based on a
military model (“war against terrorism”). This seminar will reveal terrorism as
a multidimensional phenomenon. Long-term strategies against terrorist threats
and crisis management after an attack should be developed in an
interdisciplinary way.
Description
German and international speakers (experts from universities, administration
and the police) will cover the following themes:
This seminar is aimed at local authority staff and elected members as well as
employees of police, ministries and emergency management. It will be of
particular interest to Chief Executives and their staff, Emergency Planning
Officers, Community Safety staff, Police Officers working with local
authorities, and Councillors.
