Building the governance of sustainable development – Annemasse, 23-24 November 2006

Introduction
Full title of the conference is “Building the governance of sustainable development - European solidarities with new member States”. The conference focuses on the solidarities between the fifteen countries of former Europe and the new members of the European Union. Thus, the various actors being strongly involved, while diagnosing the local strategies through precise examples, the conference will initiate the constitution of a European dialogue on the governance in environment and in sustainable development, issuing concrete propositions of cooperation and of better European management in every field.
Description
About 200 participants are expected, from France and other European countries. They reflect a great diversity (elected territorial authorities, associations, manufacturers, experts, representatives of national authorities from various countries, European institutions). The Symposium, first step in a cycle of work on international cooperation, is scheduled within the framework of the cycle of Lisbon and essentially aims at durable and environmental solidarities.
