Regenex 2007 ‘10 Years of Regeneration Policy: Getting the Built Environment Right?’ – London, 27 February–1 March 2007 27-02-2007 Introduction Regenex focuses on the role of the built environment in successful
regeneration and how it can become the foundation for creating sustainable
places. Regenex is open to all those involved in the many aspects of urban
renewal: ranging from the creation and implementation of policy, to economic
development and the financing of regeneration projects. All these subjects come
together at Regenex, creating a forum for debate, discussion and information
sharing.
Description
The theme of the Regenex 2007 conference is ‘10 Years of Regeneration Policy:
Getting the Built Environment Right’. It looks back to the roots of the United
Kingdom’s regeneration strategy borne out of the race riots of the 1980s, and
asks whether this direction is still the right one. It looks to ten years of UK
government regeneration policy and delivery and asks what has worked, and what
has not. How can the lessons learned make a difference in the next ten years?
And what are the key issues to overcome in order to make the achievement of the
UK’s vision on regeneration a possibility?
Concurrently with the conference, Regenex offers participants a broad and
in-depth practical information programme with twenty seminar sessions. Regenex
also hosts a dedicated exhibition area, with key representation from the UK
Government and public sector agencies.
Regenex takes place at the same time as four other events, each one focusing
on a key theme and providing a dedicated conference, series of seminars and an
exhibition:
Particularly Ecobuild and Cityscape are of interest to urban professionals as
well and both events can be found on the EUKN website (see links below).
