Introduction

The project “the role of fathers and men in the reconciliation between private and professional life” is a project led by the European New Towns Platform.

Description

The objectives of the project are:

To propose a first definition of “the role of men and fathers in the reconciliation of work and private life”.
To analyse to what extend local authorities intervention on this issue is adequate/ necessary.
To present first ideas of what could be done by local authorities to promote the role of men and fathers locally in gender equality and in particular in the reconciliation of work and private life.

The European New Towns Platform is organising a Conference on this subject and these questions from 22 to 23 February 2007 in Brussels.
