Round table on high-skilled labour flow – Brussels, 18 April 2007

Introduction
The round table aims to contribute to the debate on the forthcoming EU directive on the conditions of entry and residence of highly-skilled workers. Two main issues will be addressed. The first issue is the perspectives of mobility within the EU Member States for highly skilled migrant workers, the second issue the "brain drain" affecting their home countries.

  • Vittorio Prodi (host of the meeting) and Richard Howitt, Members of the European Parliament 
  • Michelle Sabban, vice president of the Assembly of European Regions and of Ile-de-France 
  • Matthias Schulze-Böing, Chair of the Council of European Municipalities and Regions' working group on Employment and Social Policy (CEMR) 
  • Oriol Amorós, Secretary for Immigration (Catalonia) 
  • Oscar de Bona, Minister for Migratory Policies (Veneto) 
  • Vincenzo Falcone, Under Secretary to the Presidency (Calabria) 
  • Ali al Hadaui, Advisor to the Amsterdam Municipality
