by the Irish Council for Social Housing, will be on “Building Sustainable
Communities - Housing policies are the Driving Force”.
Description
The European Housing Forum was created in 1997, following the adoption of a
resolution on the social aspect of housing by the European Parliament. The Forum
regularly organises thematic seminars and conferences, is a place of debate and
a key partner of the European Housing Ministers annually meeting.
The conference will bring together around 100 housing experts from different
sectors from across Europe and will be a unique chance for transnational
exchanges and mutual learning. The conference will be opened by the Minister of
Housing of Ireland and features several other eminent speakers.
The morning session will set the European context for the debate.
Participants will be able to discuss the role of the EU in relation to
sustainable communities and housing and there will be a presentation of the
successful policy practices in Ireland.
