OECD Forum 2007 – Innovation, Growth and Equity – Paris, 14-15 May 2007

Introduction
The Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) brings together business and labour leaders, civil society personalities, government ministers and leaders of international organisations to discuss pressing issues on the international agenda. This year the focus is on innovation, growth and equity. The Forum takes place in conjunction with the annual OECD Ministerial summit.
Description
At the Forum, participants will discuss three themes: 
1. Innovation and growth - How to stimulate innovation as a driver of productivity and competitiveness?
Key elements include: 
  • globalisation and innovation 
  • intellectual property rights 
  • information technology 
  • biotechnology 
  • research and development 
2. Sharing the benefits of globalisation - How to maximise citizens' participation in and benefits from globalisation?
Key elements include: 
  • smooth labour market adjustment 
  • education and training policies 
  • better access to affordable healthcare 
  • sustainable and socially cohesive cities 
3. Strengthening the multilateral system - How to restore confidence in the multilateral system, which has been a critical driver of peace, prosperity and poverty reduction?
Key elements include: 
  • “win-win” policies for trade, investment and migration 
  • climate change 
  • energy security 
  • integrating economies such as China, India and Latin America
The OECD Forum 2006 attracted approximately 1400 participants from 69 countries, including 140 journalists. A list of confirmed speakers can be found on the Forum website (see link below).
