Introduction

The theme of the 2007 Velo-city conference is 'From Vision to Reality'. Aim of the conference is to promote the bicycle as an attractive and self-evident means of transport for daily and leisure travel. The conference is organised by the City and Traffic Planning Office of Aachen, North-Rhine Westfalia.

Description

At the conference, four themes are emphasised:

A plus in quality of life - through city-friendly, socially friendly and environmentally friendly mobility;
New chances on the employment market - the economic factor “bicycle”;
Mankind and health - the win-win factor bicycle;
Modern urban and regional development - workable models for a future worth living for.

Velo-city is an international forum that convenes every two years to discuss strategies to promote bicycle transport.
