Regions and Migrants: Paths to active citizenship - Venice, 11 July 2007
11-07-2007

Introduction
The next thematic seminar of the City to City project is labelled "Regions and Migrants: Paths to active citizenship". It addresses the issue of immigration and integration from a multi-disciplinary perspective, with speakers from all over the world.
Description
Individuals, families, communities and territories alike are deeply affected by the complex phenomena of migration, whose positive governance is a priority on the European agenda. While Member States struggle to find a common migration policy, especially with regard to migration flows, regional and local authorities, public and private stakeholders, NGOs and advocates find themselves protagonists of “migrants” policy, where comprehensive strategies to cope with the work, physical and civic needs of immigrant people and receiving communities are devised and implemented.
