Multiple barriers, multiple solutions: inclusion into and through employment for homeless people in Europe - Zaragoza, 18-19 October 2007 18-10-2007 Introduction The European Federation of National Organisations working with People who are
Homeless (FEANTSA) organises a European Conference and Information Day on the
inclusion of homeless people into and through employment.
Description
FEANTSA’s special focus on employment and homelessness in 2007 is in line
with the clear commitment made at EU level to bring more marginalised people
into employment and to treat the phenomenon of homelessness as priority on the
European anti-poverty agenda.
During the course of the year, FEANTSA will carry out a consultation of its
member organisations on homelessness and employment. On the basis of the
national reports, FEANTSA will prepare a European Report on the issue.
The main findings of the report will be presented at this conference.
It is a unique opportunity to:
· Meet experts on employment and homelessness from across Europe
· Discuss the main findings of the FEANTSA European Report on employment
· Learn about effective approaches to help people who are homeless to gain
employment
· Participate in five workshops:
- Employment for people who are homeless: right or requirement?
- When is a person ready for work and how to get there?
- Where can people who are homeless find employment?
- What comes first: housing or employment?
- What can we learn from EQUAL?
· Understand the value of transnational exchanges for the fight against
homelessness
· Visit various employment projects for people who are homeless
