The Future of Social Housing in Europe - Paris, 22-23 November 2007 22-11-2007, Source: European Network for
Housing Research Introduction How will social housing and the rationale behind it develop in Europe? What
part does social housing play in the regulation of the housing market? And what
is the place of social housing in urban renewal and the social division of
space? These are all questions that will be discussed during the international
'Future of Social Housing' Conference in Paris in November 2007.
Description
The conference is the outcome of a European workshop jointly organized by the
GIS (Research Centre on the Socio-Economics of Housing) and the ENHR (European
Network for Housing and Urban Research) which included 20-odd researchers in
various social sciences coming from 7 different countries. It focuses on the
evolution of the forms and aims of social housing in some north-west European
countries over the past 30 years: Germany, Austria, Denmark, France, The
Netherlands, the United Kingdom and Sweden.
