International workshop on smart economic growth - Utrecht, 16 January 2008
16-01-2008

Introduction
Areas across North West Europe are densely populated, buzzing with economic activity and full of places of natural beauty. The international workshop on smart economic growth focuses on the question how we can optimise the potential of people, space and technology to ensure increased productivity and a better quality of life, whilst at the same time protecting and enhancing the environment in such regions.
Description
'Smart economic growth' (SEG) is a model designed to optimise the potential of people, space and technology, while at the same time protecting and enhancing the environment. SEG is also the title of an Interreg project whose partners are organising this workshop in Utrecht.
The event is an opportunity to meet practitioners tackling live issues around smart growth. It is designed for a range of people working with growth issues – for example developers, architects, commercial property organisations, economic development officers, planners etc.
Six 'expert workshops' will focus on real life case studies and will be led and facilitated by experts and practitioners who will share their expertise and experience
The event forms a key part of the (SEG) project. The results of the day will be used as material to be inserted within developing best practice toolkit SEGDEG.
Attendees will be set challenges alongside experts to come up with potential answers to issues and problems faced across North West Europe. As well as a chance to contribute to the event they will be able to learn lessons and benefit from the experience of others.
Register before 5 January by sending an email to registration@reneekraaier.nl
