5th Warwick Healthy Housing Conference - Coventry, 17-19 March 2008
17-03-2008

Introduction
The 5th Warwick conference on health and housing, will be an opportunity to review recent developments both in the evidence for the relationship between the housing environment and health, and in the policies and practices directed at improving health and well-being through housing interventions.
Description
Housing is more than just a physical (financial) asset. It is a vital necessity and one which has a direct effect on our health and well- being. This is true for everyone, especially for the more vulnerable members of society - the very young, the elderly, those with disabilities and limitations, those too sick to go to work or school, and the unemployed. These will spend more time in and around housing, will place the greatest demands on it, and are more likely to be the most affected by unsatisfactory conditions.
The main themes themes of the conference will be:
  • Reviewing recent research on housing and health
  • Developments in dealing with the unsatisfactory housing conditions
  • Better housing = Better health
