5th Warwick Healthy Housing Conference - Coventry, 17-19 March 2008 17-03-2008 Introduction The 5th Warwick conference on health and housing, will be an opportunity to
review recent developments both in the evidence for the relationship between the
housing environment and health, and in the policies and practices directed at
improving health and well-being through housing interventions.
Description
Housing is more than just a physical (financial) asset. It is a vital
necessity and one which has a direct effect on our health and well- being. This
is true for everyone, especially for the more vulnerable members of society -
the very young, the elderly, those with disabilities and limitations, those too
sick to go to work or school, and the unemployed. These will spend more time in
and around housing, will place the greatest demands on it, and are more likely
to be the most affected by unsatisfactory conditions.
