2008 European Conference on Mobility Management - London, 4-6 June 2008
04-06-2008

Introduction
The annual European Conference on Mobility Management (ECOMM) provides a focused outlet for Mobility Management practitioners and experts from all over Europe and beyond. It will take place at Chelsea Football Club and is being delivered by the UK's Department for Transport, Transport for London and the London European Partnership for Transport (LEPT).
Description
This year's theme: Travel Demand Management - Tackling Climate Change, reflects the underlying importance of the wide range of mobility management measures currently implemented on local and national levels to achieve significant reductions in CO2 emissions. The impact of climate change, combined with issues such as congestion and obesity, demands the integration and implementation of sustainable transport across all key policy areas, therefore requiring a significant change in the behaviour of organisations and individuals.
ECOMM 2008 will focus on how such behaviour change can be achieved by examining current and future policy, projects and campaigns. High profile politicians from across Europe and leading experts from sectors including finance, business and health will share a variety of perspectives and strategies in panel sessions and discussion with delegates. Over 100 speakers have been allocated across 35 parallel sessions and interactive sessions over the three days to share practical experiences on all aspects of sustainable transport. There will be full conference streams on topics such as:
  • Mobility Management Policy
  • International Best Practice
  • School Travel Plans
  • Workplace, Residential and Destination based Travel Plans
  • Travel Awareness, Marketing and Promotion
  • European Projects - successes, failures and funding sources
Over 500 representatives from local and national governments, business, finance and academia are expected to attend the conference.
