Stockholm World Water
Week in August? If so be sure not to miss the free training session entitled
‘Integrated Urban Water Management – What’s in it for the City of the Future?’
taking place in parallel with the World Water Week. Targeted at senior
decision-makers and planners in local governments, this 3 hour event is arranged
as part of the European Commission funded project ‘SWITCH – Managing Water for
the City of the Future’.
Description
A 3 hour training on Integrated Urban Water Management (IUWM) from a local
government perspective held during the Stockholm World Water Week. The course
will provide participants with insights into the benefits and opportunities of a
more holistic approach to urban water management enabling them to take more
informed decisions in the local water sector.
Target group: Political decision makers and planners from local government,
water managers from local administrations and water utilities, and all senior
staff of local government departmemnts that are major water users themselves or
have major impacts on water resources.
The training is free of charge. will take place in the Stockholm
International Fairs and Congress Centre (venue for the World Water Week) on
Tuesday, 19 August 2008 from 15:00 to 18:00.

It is planned to repeat the training during the IWA Congress in Vienna (7 to
