Introduction
INTERMODES is aimed at all international players in the passenger transport sector: elected officials, international authorities, community groups, manufacturers, operators, researchers wishing to contribute towards perfecting intermodality on the domestic and European levels and/or developing solutions that promote intermodality. These solutions will be presented during the Convention and through the associated modular exhibition.
Description
Intermodality is an organised connection between various modes of transport, during a single journey, which aims at offering travellers an unbroken journey. Intermodality introduces fluidity into travel, and everything involved with it : interoperability, signage, electronic ticketing, accessibility, real-time information, safety, comfort.

  • 2 days of exchange and discovery
  • In Brussels, European Capital
  • Reserved for elected representatives and passenger transport professionals from the 27 member states, in particular for new member countries of the European Union
The objective of INTERMODES is to create a platform for exchanges between all European players in the passenger transport sector, in order for them to contribute and share concrete solutions for the joint construction of a sustainably mobile Europe.
During the two days of the Convention, four main themes will be under discussion:
  • Domestic issues
  • Industrial issues and challenges
  • The technological and human challenge
  • Intermodality and the new member states
In addition, there will be a cross-cutting approach to financing.
