Asia Pacific Cities Summit, Incheon (Korea), 15-17 September 2009
15-09-2009

Introduction
The Asia Pacific Cities Summit, a signature event of Brisbane City Council, is now recognized as a leading business and government forum. The primary goal of this biennial summit is to cultivate city partnerships and to encourage the sharing of information and ideas between local governments, technical experts and business leaders in the Asia Pacific region.
Description
As cities everywhere continue to grow and increasingly assert themselves as significant driving forces of national economies, high profile leaders and decision makers are now seen as crucial to make more vital and liveable cities, towns, and local communities. Under the theme of 'Creative Urban Development', the 2009 Asia Pacific Cities Summit will focus on the key assets, infrastructures and tools required to promote the growth of creative, innovative, sustainable and cohesive places.
Situated at the heart of the world's fastest growing region, Incheon is undergoing a rapid and far-reaching transformation into a global informational and technological city of the 21st century. This will be showcased in our Global Fair & Festival 2009 to be held between August and October. With this in mind, our city is particularly well-placed to welcome prominent regional leaders and business people interested in furthering the development of international trade and forging meaningful relationships between our cities.
