EUROCITIES Mobility Forum - Munick, 2-4 March 2010
02-03-2010, Source: City of Munich

Introduction
From Tuesday 2nd to Thursday 4th of March 2010 the City of Munich will host the EUROCITIES Mobility Forum.
Description
The conference will focus on financial as well as on marketing aspects of urban mobility. Presentations from international experts in turn with interactive sessions will make the EUROCITIES Mobility Forum a vibrant and rewarding event.
At Mobility Forum Meetings European experts share knowledge, introduce good practice and generate new ideas for sustainable urban mobility in European cities. Together, we are a strong voice and partner for EU-institutions to influence European policy development.
One of our main topics at the Munich meeting will be “Public Costs and new Financing Options for Urban Mobility”. Facing the current global crisis, these issues are of essential interest to our cities. New models for financing urban mobility have to be developed – taking socio-demographic change and tight budgets into account. Therefore, cost-intensive investments in hard infrastructure need to be balanced with soft measures and embedded in comprehensive urban and regional mobility strategies. Developing target-group orientated marketing strategies and creating positive images of sustainable transport will support these strategies. A panel of experts will discuss these issues with the participants during the conference.
At the first day of the conference, Tuesday, 2nd of March, we will introduce the participants to the agenda and familiarize you with the main topics. Several workshops will take place on the second day, March 3rd as well as a range of technical visits. At the last day, March 4th, the different working groups will report their results, and the EUROCITIES internal meeting will conclude the Mobility Forum. Please note that on Thursday and Friday, 3rd and 4th of March, an additional workshop of the EU-project AENEAS on “Attaining energy-efficient Mobility in an ageing Society” will be offered.
