EUKN and KCGS win XML Award: ´most innovative website´ 24-11-2005 The European Urban Knowledge Network (EUKN) and the Dutch Knowledge Centre
for Larger Towns and Cities (KCGS) have been awarded the "XML Award" for their
websites. The prize is presented annually to organisations that have displayed
innovative initiative in using XML applications for their websites. The winner
was announced during the ´XML Holland 2005´ conference in Arnhem on 23 November
2005.
KCGS has significantly improved its web structure since March 2005 by means
of DOCBANK. Since 27 October 2005 the portal website for the European Urban
Knowledge Network and its 10 national sites are live as well. Almost 30 websites
are now being kept up-to-date automatically with news, studies and real-life
cases. The information on the pages of the KCGS and EUKN websites is saved
entirely in XML, to allow other knowledge suppliers to take over documents
integrally in a simple way.
