Debate Europe! – online forum on the future of Europe 28-03-2006 On March 27, the European commission launched an online platform for
discussing the future of the European Union. The forum is open to all interested
citizens. The initiative is part of the Commission´s “PLAN D for Democracy,
Dialogue and Debate”. People working for local authorities are invited to
participate in the online forum, to share their opinion on European integration.
The website is available in twenty European languages.
The Debate Europe site covers three specific themes:
PLAN D is the Commission’s reaction to the French and Dutch no votes on the
European Constitution. Aim of PLAN D is to enable a broad debate on the future
of Europe. Feedback from the discussion will be part of the commission's report
on the period of reflection on the constitution.
