90.000 euros for 50 research networks 04-05-2006 COST invites European researchers to submit proposals for research networks
on the scientific, economic, cultural or societal development of Europe. This
year, COST will select approximately 50 new research networks. On average
financial support of some € 90.000 annually as grant for four years can be
expected. Deadline for submitting preliminary proposals is 31 May 2006.
COST is one of the longest-running instruments supporting co-operation among
scientists and researchers across Europe. COST has 35 member countries. COST’s
main objective is to stimulate new, innovative and interdisciplinary scientific
networks in Europe. COST does not fund research itself. COST grants may be used
to finance networking of nationally funded activities in supporting meetings,
conferences, short term scientific exchanges and outreach activities.
A two stage process will be followed to assess proposals. Preliminary
proposals should provide a brief overview of the proposal and its impact. A
pre-selection will rank the remaining Preliminary Proposals of which some 75 per
collection date will be invited to submit a full proposal. The first collection
date for preliminary proposals is 31 May 2006 22:00 CET. Full proposals will be
invited by 30 June 2006 for submission by 15 September 2006. The next collection
dates is expected to be 30 March 2007.
