Local authorities to compete for Citizen Participation Award 14-06-2006 The International Observatory of Participative Democracy (OIDP) has launched
the "Best Practice in Citizen Participation Award". The award aims to recognise
innovative experiments and ideas that get the public involved in developing and
implementing public policies.
The OIDP is an organisation open to all of the world's cities, entities,
organisations and research centres that want to learn about, exchange or apply
experiences relating to participatory democracy. The award is open to all local
and regional authorities across the world that promote citizen participation and
is still actively doing so at the time the candidacy is submitted.
Closing date for applications: 30 June 2006.
