Local authorities to compete for Citizen Participation Award
14-06-2006

The International Observatory of Participative Democracy (OIDP) has launched the "Best Practice in Citizen Participation Award". The award aims to recognise innovative experiments and ideas that get the public involved in developing and implementing public policies.
The OIDP is an organisation open to all of the world's cities, entities, organisations and research centres that want to learn about, exchange or apply experiences relating to participatory democracy. The award is open to all local and regional authorities across the world that promote citizen participation and is still actively doing so at the time the candidacy is submitted.
Closing date for applications: 30 June 2006.
