Register now for the OPEN DAYS 2006 31-07-2006 The preparations for the “2006 OPEN DAYS European Week of Regions and
Cities”, taking place in Brussels between 9 and 12 October, have reached their
final stage. Registration requests for the 111 workshops and seminars can now be
sent.
This year's focus is on “Investing in Europe's Regions and Cities: Public and
Private Partners for Growth and Jobs”. The event will, for the first time,
feature an “Investors' Café” aimed at bringing together business investors and
decision-makers from local and regional government.
The 2006 OPEN DAYS include 70 local events across Europe. The Week
is organised by the European Commission's Regional Policy Directorate-General
and the Committee of the Regions. The main partners are 135 regions and cities.
The event is supported by the European Parliament and the Finnish EU Presidency,
as well as leading blue-chip companies, the banking sector and civil society
organisations. More than 5,000 stakeholders are expected to participate.
