Four European cities in top seven of ‘Intelligent Communities’ 30-01-2007 The top seven intelligent communities of the year provide role models for the
world's best practices in creating competitive local economies and vibrant
societies in today's global economy, increasingly linked by broadband
communications. In its annual top seven the US based think tank Intelligent
Community Forum (ICF). The seven cities and urban regions were selected, based
on analysis by a team of independent academic researchers. One of the seven will
be named 2007's Intelligent Community of the Year.
In the "broadband economy," adaptability outweighs legacy, skills rather than
resources are the keys to the future, and innovation, not location, creates a
competitive advantage. Which community wins the Intelligent Community of the
Year 2007 award will be announced at ICF's Building the Broadband Economy annual
conference taking place in New York City on 18 May 2007.

The Intelligent Community Forum (ICF) is a nonprofit think tank that focuses
on job creation and economic development in the broadband economy. Our area of
interest is the local community, both large and small, in the developing and
developed economies of the world. ICF conducts research, creates conference
content, publishes information and presents annual awards.
