The first map, which shows the eighteen cities with more than 1 million

generated with the number and the share of foreign-born residents in the city,
the top countries of origin, and a list of further resources.
For urban-level data on immigration in other cities, the GUM project website
is a unique and reliable source. GUM collects and hosts data on the foreign born
in over 150 metropolitan areas in more than 50 countries. The GUM database is
also freely accessible on-line. Scholars and policy makers are invited to
contribute their work and urban-level data to GUM to better inform policy
discussions and research on urban-level immigration.
