Call for Participation: Europe's Creative Regions and Cities
06-01-2009

In the context of the European Year of Creativity and Innovation 2009, the Committee of the Regions and the European Commission are jointly organising a two-day forum, on 20 and 21 April 2009. The Forum will showcase the creativity of Europe’s regions and cities and demonstrate the importance of creativity and innovation for economic development.
The Forum has two broad aims. First, to create a platform for exchanging best practices among those regions, cities and experts who have expertise in promoting creative industries and innovative approaches in the areas of Arts and Culture; Science, Research and Innovation; Media, Information and Communication Technologies; Urban Development and Urban Creativity; and Social Innovations. Second, to showcase, with the help of the CoR members, 100 young creative talents from all over Europe. These creative talents might be artists, architects, designers, film directors, internet experts or others who have contributed to the development of the local economy, for example by setting up their own businesses.
Regions, cities as well as "young talent" candidates are invited to send their applications by 31st January 2009. Fill in the form below and send it to the Committee of the Regions by email:
