Coolregion Arnhem Nijmegen
Introduction
To put the region firmly on the map and make the region digitally findable for visitors and companies from home and abroad! That is the aim of the image campaign for “Arnhem Nijmegen, Cool Region”.
Problem
There is a gap between the image of the region as felt by outsiders and what we really are, our identity. The Arnhem Nijmegen region is not only a border region with many green areas and a rich history, but is also young and trendy; with many creative companies, the top of fashion, a strong clustering of health and wellness, excellent educational institutes, exciting architecture, and so forth. The core values that we want to spread are: "relaxed" (the people, the surroundings), "healthy" (the economy, nature) and “creative” (the entrepreneurs, and the training courses). In one word: Cool!
Description
The four initiators are the Chamber of Commerce, Regional Tourist Board Arnhem-Nijmegen (RBT KAN), the Cityregion Arnhem Nijmegen and VNO NCW region Arnhem Nijmegen. A new brand and this web portal are the first steps in marketing our region. Cool Region does not replace city marketing but is a supplement to what already exists. Combining the new with established names will generate more clients. This is what they call ‘co-branding’.
Approach
Companies and visitors will focus more and more on the regional scale, which makes digital findability more important. With our image campaign we aim to draw more and wider attention to what our region can supply.
Target group
The region aims to attract:
  • More (international) tourists and visitors of culture
  • More (international) companies and investors
  • More (international) students and knowledge workers
  • More people who feel at home in this region
