Peer Review for European Sustainable Urban Development
Introduction
PRESUD was a LIFE project aimed at developing and testing a methodology for peer reviews on sustainable urban development
Description
PRESUD was a partnership project that explored the contribution that European cities can make to sustainable development. On the basis of the OECD methodology for territorial reviews, the project developed a peer review system for European sustainable urban development. The peer review is based on the use of interviews with local politicians and city officers, and the project has contributed to the development, implementation and evaluation of SMART action plans in the cities involved.
Background information
The research was started to develop and test the concept of territorial peer reviews on sustainable urban development.
Conclusions
The Peer Review methodology has been analyzed in detailed and further collaboration with the OECD has been studied and discussed. This methodology is a good tool to use in the Thematic Strategy on the Urban Environment.
