Development Strategy of the City of Krakow
Introduction
The strategic development plan of the city of Krakow.
Description
The Development Strategy of the City of Krakow updates in a comprehensive way the Development Strategy of the City of Krakow approved with the City Council’s resolution on 20’th October 1999. The document the basic ideas and assumptions concerning the future of the city of Krakow have been preserved. But the accents have been shifted and the economic sphere as well as the participation of inhabitants have been strongly stressed. It is reflected in the sequence of steps: starting from the vision and mission, through development goals, to programs and tasks. On that basis a consistent and comprehensive list of strategic and operation goals has been prepared as well as a new package of sectoral programs and tasks, reflecting the updating requirements. The elaboration stresses the participation of the inhabitants in the city’s future creation and realization of strategic tasks. In this context, assumptions of launching institutional mechanisms of strategy implementation, including monitoring and evaluation of the process, as well as updating sectoral programmes and tasks crucial for the Strategy realisation, are an important part of the document.
