The Avanza Plan is part of the National Reform Programme designed to carry out the agreements of the Lisboa Strategy. Its main objective is to increase the volume of economic activity related to Information Technologies up to 7% of the GDP in 2010. In order to achieve this goal, a common effort by the private sector, the civil society and the different public administrations is required.

The Avanza Plan intends to promote an adequate use of IT in order to achieve a model of economic growth based on the increase of competitiveness and productivity, the promotion of social and regional equality and the improvement of the quality of life for the citizens.
