Y4 ideology – Boosting Entreprneurship in Society through Co-operation
Introduction
Y4 vision: Central Finland – the world’s most entrepreneur-active region. The Y4 entrepreneurship ideology is in process of realizing a vision for Central Finland. Central Finland is a region with high quality of life, whose future is built on knowledge, skills and entrepreurship.
Description
Main strategy: A change in operating culture, so that the impact on entrepreneuship is always considered whenever decisions are made. Public officials, municipalities, educational institutions and other actors in society should encourage and remove obstacles to it. We need a new way of thinking, one that is entrepreneur-friendly, motivating and self-reinforcing. Central Finland esteems, motivates and encourages an entrepreneurial attitude to work, entrepreneurship and innovativeness based on ethically sustainable values.
Results
  • All regional programmes are assessed from a entrepreneuship perspective
  • An entrepreneurship assessment tool for regional programmes has developed 
  • 265% net increase in enterprises during the Y4 process
  • Proportion of entrepreneurs of those in employment among the highest in Finland
  • 36 Entrepreneurship Agreement organisations -Entrepreneurial Delegate for Central Finland was nominated
  • Over 8000 participants in the Y4 events
  • Foundation of the Y4 committee
  • National win in the Entreprise Europe competition
  • Over 100 organisations, including regional actors, municipalities and companies, support Y4
  • Strong common culture of entrepreneurship, the Y4 ideology is realized in day-to-day life
