Amsterdam Top City: a new role in the global economy
Introduction
In order to keep ahead of the global competition, Amsterdam needs to renew itself. The Amsterdam Top City programme book presents the city’s vision on boosting innovation and the knowledge economy.
Description
The Amsterdam Top City programme focuses on creativity, which is the engine behind the city’s dynamism and magnetism, and on making connections between the different creative sectors.
The city council has chosen five areas of action:
1) Use and attract talent
2) Stimulate and facilitate from start to growth
3) Atmosphere: hospitality, freedom, service
4) Use and create space
5) Amsterdam’s international reputation
The city council implements the programme with a range of partners from the business community, social and knowledge institutions and government, both on a local and regional level. So far, 11 projects are running under the programme and more will follow.
