An Assessment of Current Provision for Skills Needs in the Asset Skills Sector
Introduction
The purpose of this report is to set out the results of a comprehensive research programme which has sought to assess the current provision for skill needs in the Asset Skills sector.
Description
This research document presents research findings and analysis for the second stage of Asset Skills’ Sector Skills Agreement – the review of current training provision across all levels in order to measure its range, nature and employer relevance.
Background information
Sector Skills agreements have been developed to identifying and articulating how industries are going to raise their performance within their particular sectors.
Methodology
A comprehensive research process lies behind this report involving the quantitative analysis of available data sets, the detailed mapping of provision and an extensive programme of qualitative research.
Conclusions
The research document contains a large number of conclusions including the following:
  • mapping of provison within the housing,
  • property,
  • cleaning and facilities management sectors
  • and the uptake and assessment of provision in FE, HE and WBL across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
