The funding of housing in France
Introduction
This document describes the major stages in housing in France, the main public financial contributions and the characteristics of the aid and the groups concerned, and reviews the low-rent housing mechanism (HLM) organizations.
Description
Apart from a presentation of the financing mechanisms, this publication also gives a description at national level of housing over the course of the last ten years: data on housing stock, new constructions, rehabilitation work, and aid and financing. These elements provide clarification allowing a better understanding of local approaches, such as those followed in major agglomerations.
