Experimental Housing and Urban Development research field „Economical, Quality-Conscious Building of one- and two-family houses in prospering regions“
Introduction
Economical, Quality-Conscious Building of one- and two-family houses in prospering regions
Description
Housing markets in Germany are in a dramatic change. They are i.a. caused by demographic and socio-economic developments to which the housing markets must react. New forms of housing and new concepts are becoming more important. The suburbanisation of the residential population can only be limited if the cities offer attractive alternatives for the acquisition of property. Demonstration projects serve to test economical and quality-conscious solutions with regard to the integration into urban planning and approaches for innovative forms of building and housing.
Background information
The demonstration projects are supposed to contribute to strengthening central cities and to reducing migrations from the city to the urban hinterland. The demonstration projects are a test to find out how attractive and demand-oriented forms of building and housing in one- and two-family houses in central cities can be implemented in a cost-efficient way. Special importance is given here to their integration in urban development and to demand-oriented, concentrated forms of building and housing.
Conclusions
The demonstration projects deal with the essential quality and cost structures of one- and two-family houses in prospering regions and their communication with builders and buyers. In this context, different qualitative dimensions such as location qualities, urban development-oriented integration, use qualities, object and procedural qualities are considered. Concerning costs, the demonstration projects take property, development, building and operational costs into account.
