Introduction
This research report describes the Danish housing market, a presentation of the institutional framework of the social housing sector and a historical account of Danish housing refurbishing policies.
Description
The research report begins with a brief overview of the developments in the private and rental housing stock and demographic changes. The report continues with the state of maintenance of the housing stock and reviews which kinds of housing there are. Furthermore, the democratic and administrative structure of the social housing sector and the allocation is discussed. In addition the historical development of housing rehabilitation in Denmark and the type of refurbishment problems involved are mentioned. Lastly, programmes for urban renewal and housing rehabilitation are announced.
