Introduction
This article discuss housing needs of population discloced during Censuses in 1988 and 2002 and is an answer to a question, how much the market is able to satisfy current gousing needs in regional level.
Description
The assesment of housing needs In Poland takes into consideration actual condition (amount and structure of households), scale and structure of housinf market in Poland in years 1990-2002, estimated current housing needs, turnovers connected with primarily and secondary housing market and describe of regional housing markets in 2002. This article tries to group polish regions according to criteria connected with appropriate regional housing strategies.
Conclusions
Subsequent national censuses indicated that the rate of increase of the number of households in 1978/1988 and 1988/2002 was similar and amounted to ca. 2%. Between the last two censuses, the deficit increased to nearly 15% of the existing stock, including less than 14% in tows and more than 15% in rural areas. Analysis indicates that there are considerable differences in demographic or economic conditions of development between regions, and they are reflected in the local housing market trends. It is necessary to adjust local strategies for satisfying housing demand to specific requirements and generally adopted directions of social and economic development.
