Leaders Network
Introduction
The Leaders Network is an invitation only network for leaders of agencies delivering sustainable communities.
Description
The network enables senior professionals in the sector to share learning, keep pace with emerging policy and research, network with one another and influence government.  The core of the network programme are round tables and site visits.  These are designed to promote debate around emerging issues in the development of sustainable communities.
Participants
Network members include leaders of Urban Regeneration Companies, Urban Development Corporations, Core Cities, Growth Area Delivery Partnerships, Government, English Partnerships and key local authority figures.

Objectives
The purpose and aims of the Network are:
to coordinate a network of leaders amongst key delivery organisations, including government departments and agencies with responsibility for the sustainable communities agenda.
Specifically the network:
  • exchanges information, lessons and ideas on the delivery of sustainable communities initiatives and projects;
  • offers a mechanism to influence and advise CLG on sustainable communities policy and delivery;
  • fosters a shared spirit amongst those leading programmes to deliver sustainable communities
  • develops delivery capacity among members and member organisations.
Products
The programme up to the end of March 2008 will include:
  • 2 all-network national conferences – the first was held on 16 October 2007;
  • 6 round Table discussions on emerging issues;
  • 4 study visits;
  • 3 action learning sets (North, South and London)
SI will also develop content for a dedicated section on ASC’s website, learning points and action notes to issue after each event and meeting, and a Leaders’ Network ‘Book Club’.
